Dear Subscriber,
When you want to get the straight story it’s best to go right to the source. I spoke with Ms. Elizabeth Dean of SkyBahamas in Arthur’s Town today to get a better understanding of their new schedule. She was a bit concerned SkyBahamas’ schedule changes were discussed at Wednesday’s Town Hall without having SkyBahamas invited… She clarified that as of March 1st SkyBahamas will still be flying twice a day to Cat Island. There will still be a morning and an afternoon flight. The flights into and out of Arthur’s Town will be on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, with flights into The Bight on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, and both airports on Sunday. It is the morning flights that have been habitually late and it appears that may continue to be the case and Ms. Dean advises passengers to call a day or two in advance to confirm the morning flight time, as it is still subject to frequent change. SkyBahamas in Arthur’s Town is 354-2236, in The Bight is 342-2256 or in Nassau at 242-225-4460. The afternoon flight continues to mostly operate on time. It is also important to note that as of March 1st, they will no longer be offering a free ground shuttle between Arthur’s Town and The Bight.
And another pointer shared by a recent traveler who missed a flight out of Nassau due to the morning delay, when you get to Nassau go directly to your International Air Carrier’s counter to seek accommodations for a later flight. You are more likely to be charged for changing to a later flight if you call your airlines or attempt to make a change through the Internet. And always hold on to your SkyBahamas ticket/itinerary to be able to show to the other airline.
Warm Regards,
