A good evening Subscriber,
Just a brief newsletter to allay anyone’s fears about this massive and unpredictable Hurricane Dorian. I spoke with Miriam Donaldson who said they haven’t boarded-up and there’s no indications of an approaching storm, other than thunder in the distance, on the windward side of the island. The water in front of Pigeon Cay Beach is calm.
As Dorian turns further west tonight we’ll be watching the satellite images on Ventusky, updates from Weather Underground and updates from the National Hurricane Center for any possibility of Dorian impacting Cat Island. And there is the live webcam from the British Colonial Hilton in Nassau that sweeps back and forth across the bay towards Paradise Island.
Our prayers go out to those on North Eleuthra, Abaco, Grand Bahamas and New Providence that are under hurricane alerts and for those on the Atlantic side of Florida, who will all take a beating over the next few days. And there is another low pressure system off the west coast of Africa which may develop into a cyclone in the next 5 to 7 days.
Victoria and I arrive back on Cat September 19th and look forward to being home again. We really enjoyed our Pizza Nights with so many of our friends along the beach and look forward to more fun evenings in the coming months. Our best wishes to all and we’ll see you back on Cat whenever you can make it.
Our most warm regards, James and Victoria Honeycutt
