Your Help Needed to Improve Air Service to Cat

Author : admin Date : January 25, 2020

Dear Subscriber,

As you know, Western Air is changing their schedule staring in March to just one flight a day between Nassau and The Bight, Cat Island. The one flight is scheduled to leave Nassau at 1:00 pm and depart from Cat Island at 1:45 pm.

Bam Bam has been flying a Pineapple Air 19 Seater twin turboprop for the past two weeks on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from Nassau to Arthur’s Town, departing Nassau at 8:30 am. He is flying from the Jet Aviation Charter section in Nassau, which is much easier as there are no hassles with luggage and no body checks. You can´t book thru Pineapple Air as they are only providing one of their aircraft, which is also why he can land in Arthur’s Town. Seats are $115 each way.

As Bam Bam’s home is here on Cat Island the plan, hopefully for the very near future is flying every day, leaving Cat Island at 8:30 am flying to Nassau, and then returning to Cat from Nassau in the late afternoon. The Pineapple airplane will overnight on Cat. For the time being he is only flying to and from Arthur’s Town with the 19 seater from Pineapple Air. He plans to stop in both ATC and TBI, all of course depending on how many passengers he can book.

At the moment I’m collecting numbers from the different hotels, businesses and second homeowners on Cat to support Bam Bam’s business model and hopefully speed up the situation so he is comfortable with flying twice daily as soon as possible. What I need for now are just numbers of persons (potential passengers) who are coming to and/or leaving from Cat Island in March, and whether they are second homeowners, Cat Island residents or, if staying at a resort then which resort. I don’t need the passengers names.

I am compiling this into an Excel file and will give the collected data to Bam Bam to give him an idea of how many people travel on which days and how many are second homeowners, locals or those staying at a resort. Your help is earnestly needed to get an accurate idea of passenger loads in the near future. Please reply directly to this email with any passenger numbers for the month of March as soon as possible. Frank Wolff
