Dear Subscriber,
We’ve raised $2,400 towards the $3,000 needed to make the repairs to our private road at Pigeon Cay on Cat Island, Bahamas. Thank you! Everyone’s support has been very encouraging for all involved. We truly have a wonderful community in our piece of paradise. While you can see who has paid on the GoGetFunding website, I wanted to make sure you knew that Jan Kessinger, the Donaldsons, Roy Peterson and Ned and Leslie have all paid their allotments by check directly on Cat Island.
When discussing the road repairs with Jan Kessinger, she reminded me that some parts were so overgrown on the sides that it’s become a driving hazard. She suggested each property owner trim the foliage along the road abutting his or her property. So, the next time you’re on Cat take an hour or so and cut back the overgrowth on your lot next to the road. I expect some trimming will occur as a result of the road repair equipment, but trimming our own lot’s overgrowth is part of everyone’s responsibility.
Cat Island Earth Moving will be doing the road repairs. The $4,000 total expenditures ($1,000 coming from Peter Christie) is estimated to be $2,500 for fill materials and $1,500 for machine time. Ned will be supervising the work and I’ll update you when this begins, hopefully soon. And we’ll get some pictures posted as well.
Also, I’ve updated our website PigeonCay.org, and John Drage, our newest neighbor between Faber and the Boathouse, has added a wonderful and informative interactive map of Cat Island on the About Cat Island page that provides names, locations and phone numbers for some key points on Cat. Thank you, John for this great addition!
If you’ve paid your $150, then “Thank you, again.” If you haven’t, please do so today by clicking on this link so we can wrap this up and move forward. (This is a group email sent to all Pigeon Cay Property Owners).
Best Regards,
James D. Honeycutt, Pigeon Cay POA
